How to Make a Car for an Unsafe World!
Dodge Journey: It’s All About Versatility
Buyers can choose one of two high-tech, fuel-efficient engines: a 2.4-liter, 16-valve four-cylinder, or the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar® V-6 with its class-leading 283 hp. Both engines offer over a 500 miles driving rage on a single tank of gas
The Dodge Journey’s intelligent AWD system, coupled with the 283 HP Pentastar V-6, works on demand, driving only the front wheels under normal conditions to maximize fuel efficiency. The system automatically switches to AWD for added traction on snow, ice and other low-traction surfaces with no manual operation required.
Depending on your needs, the Journey makes an efficient tow vehicle with either of the available engines: Tow ratings are 1000 lbs. with the 2.4L four and 2500 lbs. with the 3.6L Pentastar V-6—ideal for many sport-trailering applications from power-sports vehicles to tent campers.
Buyers can choose the standard 5 passenger or the optional three-row seating that offer seating up to 7, which is available on all models and trim levels. Both seating systems fold flat to provide 67.6 cubic feet of cargo volume, and additional secure storage is provided in the second-row floor bins. Again, it’s all about versatility. As well as the available fold flat passenger seat allowing loads up to 9 feet of length. To add to the cargo capacity, the Dodge Journey also offers class exclusive in-floor and in-seat storage bins.
And the versatility doesn’t stop there. The Dodge Journey also offers integrated child booster seats and a rear seat video system to keep the passengers, no matter what their age, occupied on long road trips. For passengers riding shotgun, a class-leading 8.4” touchscreen is also available, keeping all the controls within arm’s reach.
“This vehicle is actually part compact car, part crossover, part minivan and part SUV,” says Pieter Hogeveen, Dodge Brand Manager. “It’s the most versatile vehicle in its class.”
